you think they’re absolutely perfect no matter what anyone says
you would give anything just to be with them even if it was for a minute,
you will make it work anyway you have to
when all you want is to be in their arms

Undress the town until you become accustomed to new places faces and build yourself around what you could never be reminded of
The treasures you have never known
And once you’ve traced the skeleton of the city
Deduced every curve and angle
Memorized its blueprint fit with every scenic park and atmospheric cafe
discovered everything it is, will be and could ever become
Leave
Take a bike or cab or runners and a map
and go and uncover somewhere not someone
that will make you feel full
instead of alone
But be wary
And take into consideration
The difference between detachment and distance
Don’t switch the ice-cream for frozen yogurt just yet
Do not try to drive off into the sunset with a tape full of songs you’ll learn to regret
Don’t even move a single step
Before you are more sure
than you are hurt
That you are running towards a new future
To make amends
And purify of the sulking moping and worthless hoping
And not to simply escape the past
That you have hidden so carefully under your tongue and at the back of your mouth
